Teachers' Day Message from President, DAV College Managing Committee

I happily join you in celebrating Teachers' Day in memory of the great philosopher, thinker and teacher, Dr. Sarvpali Radha Krishnan, former President of India. On this day, I honour and express my gratitude to all our teachers and tell them that I am blessed because of their presence in my life.

Teachers have always been front runners in all educational reforms. At the DAV, while introducing new reforms leading to excellence in education, we have to maintain a fine balance between tradition and modernity on the one hand and innovation and change on the other. Our teachers constitute our most precious human resource as we look towards them to guide the children, the future of India, in their quest for knowledge and truth so that each one may become a person of character and develop into an upright citizen leading a life of dignity and self respect. Education imparted by our teachers does not only teach skills and competencies necessary for economic up-liftment, it also empowers every student with values that foster social togetherness. A well educated India fit to lead the world - was the dream that our forefathers saw and DAV, today, is committed to it.
